Reducing pollutant emissions and improving safety standards are primary targets for modern mobility improvement. To meet these needs, the development of low-density steels containing aluminum is a new frontier research automotive applications. Low-density Fe-Mn-Al-C alloys promising. In this regard, an alloy with high content niobium addition belonging to system was evaluated understand possible phase transformations thus obtain transformation diagram by continuous cooling help future processing. Dilatometry tests were performed in Gleeble thermomechanical simulator different rates (1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 50 °C/s). Chemical analyses carried out simultaneously dilatometry showed presence proeutectoid ferrite (αp), δ-ferrite, retained austenite, carbide (NbC). case low (1 3 °C/s), lamellar colonies eutectoid microconstituents observed combination α-ferrite k-carbide.
